"Avatar: Seven Havens Announced, Post-Korra Events"

Get ready, fans of the Avatar universe, because Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have just unveiled an exciting new addition to the franchise: Avatar: Seven Havens. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Avatar: The Last Airbender, creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are bringing us a fresh 26-episode, 2D animated series. This new saga will follow the journey of a young Earthbender, the next Avatar after Korra, as she navigates a world torn apart by a devastating cataclysm.

According to the press release from Nickelodeon, Avatar: Seven Havens is set in a fractured world where the new Avatar's role is far from heroic. Instead of being seen as a savior, she is branded as humanity's destroyer. Hunted by both human and spirit adversaries, she teams up with her long-lost twin to unravel their mysterious origins and protect the Seven Havens, the last bastions of civilization.

In their statement, Konietzko and DiMartino expressed their excitement about expanding the Avatarverse, saying, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters."

Avatar: Seven Havens will be divided into two seasons, each consisting of 13 episodes, forming Book 1 and Book 2. The series is being co-created by Konietzko and DiMartino, along with executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building for this new chapter in the Avatar saga.

This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also working on a full-length animated movie centered around an adult Aang. Scheduled for release in theaters on January 30, 2026, this film promises to take fans on a new adventure with the beloved character.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, Avatar Studios is also launching a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a game on Roblox, ensuring that fans have plenty of ways to immerse themselves in the Avatar universe.
