Pokémon Go Rings in 2025 with a Festive New Year's Event and January's Eggs-pedition Access!

As 2024 concludes, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event, followed by the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day. Kicking off the new year is the Eggs-pedition Access, a month-long paid event running from January 1st to 31st. For $4.99, players unlock numerous benefits to enhance their Pokémon catching adventures. This includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system, allowing for storage of up to 40 Gifts, opening of up to 50 daily, and collection of 150 from Photo Discs.

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The New Year's event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there are no new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this year, the event still offers plenty of festive fun.

Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks. Raids will feature a snowflake-wearing Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny chances. Field Research and PokéStop Showcases will provide additional opportunities to encounter these special Pokémon.
