Cookie Run Kingdom Delays Update!
Cookie Run: Kingdom's Version 5.6 Update: A Controversial "Dark Resolution"
Cookie Run: Kingdom has announced its Version 5.6 update, "Dark Resolution's Glorious Return," bringing a wave of new content, including cookies, episodes, events, and treasures. However, this update isn't without its controversies.
The Good:
The update introduces Dragon Lord Dark Cacao Cookie, an Ancient+ rarity Charge-type Cookie with a powerful Awakened King skill. A special Nether-Gacha offers increased chances to obtain him, guaranteeing him every 250 pulls. New rewards and Soulstones are also included in the gacha.
Peach Blossom Cookie, a new Epic Support-type Cookie, joins the roster, providing healing and beneficial buffs.
A new World Exploration episode continues Dark Cacao Cookie's story, featuring Yin and Yang battle stages.
The Bad and the Ugly:
The introduction of the Ancient+ rarity, the eleventh rarity in the game, is causing significant backlash. This new rarity allows for 6-star max promotion for rare cookies, but players are upset that developers chose to introduce a new rarity instead of enhancing existing characters.
The Korean community and whale guilds even threatened a boycott, leading to a postponement of the update (originally scheduled for June 20th) while developers reconsider the changes. The official tweet announcing the delay confirms this.
