According to a report by Deadline, the previously shelved Warner Bros. movie Coyote vs. Acme might finally see a release. Los Angeles-based independent film production and distribution company Ketchup Entertainment is currently in deep negotiations to acquire the film. Although the deal is not yet finalized, a theatrical release is planned for 2026 if the acquisition goes through.

Coyote vs. Acme, announced in 2022, is inspired by Ian Frazier's 1990 New Yorker article of the same name. Co-written by James Gunn, the film stars Will Forte and John Cena. Originally slated for a mid-2023 release on Max, the project was unfortunately shelved despite being fully completed. Since then, there has been a concerted campaign to save it.

Ketchup Entertainment recently saved another Warner Bros. project, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, from a similar fate. By securing this film, Ketchup ensured its theatrical release in the US, marking it as the first fully animated Looney Tunes movie to hit the big screen. IGN's review praised it as a "laugh-out-loud riot."

Ketchup Entertainment's portfolio includes other notable releases such as Hellboy: The Crooked Man and the Robert Rodriguez thriller Hypnotic, starring Ben Affleck. The company also co-produced Michael Mann's 2023 Ferrari biopic.
