Debut Trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth Shows Scarlett Johansson Kicking a Pterosaur, Shooting a Spinosaurus, and Wondering 'What the Hell Are Those?'

Universal Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth, offering a thrilling glimpse into the upcoming action-adventure film slated for a July release.

The trailer showcases a team led by Scarlett Johansson embarking on a perilous mission to a remote island. This island, previously a research facility for the original Jurassic Park, houses dinosaurs deemed too dangerous for public display.

The mission's objective: to collect DNA from the three largest dinosaurs on Earth to develop a life-saving drug. However, as expected, the mission takes an unexpected and dangerous turn.

Starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, Jurassic World: Rebirth follows a daring team racing against time to secure DNA samples from three colossal creatures inhabiting diverse environments. Directed by Gareth Edwards ( Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and written by David Koepp (original Jurassic Park screenwriter), the film also stars Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.

Five years after Jurassic World Dominion, the planet struggles to accommodate the surviving dinosaurs, who are now confined to isolated tropical regions. These three massive creatures hold the key to a revolutionary drug with the potential to save countless lives.

Johansson portrays Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operative leading the mission. Their operation intersects with a civilian family whose boat is capsized by aquatic dinosaurs, stranding them all on the island where a decades-old secret awaits discovery.

The cast also includes Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado. Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Audrina Miranda portray Reuben's family. Additional cast members include Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein.

This sequence, as confirmed by Vanity Fair, depicts Dr. Grant and two children (not present in the new film) attempting a perilous raft journey across a lagoon, narrowly avoiding a sleeping Tyrannosaurus rex.
