Gears of War: E-Day Co-Developer People Can Fly Signs New Project With Sony, Codenamed Project Delta

People Can Fly, the studio behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to develop a new game, codenamed Project Delta. The agreement, detailed in a report from People Can Fly, designates Project Delta as a work-for-hire title, though specifics remain undisclosed.

This new project joins a bustling development pipeline at People Can Fly. The studio is currently juggling several similarly codenamed projects, including Project Gemini (a collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 layoffs last year), Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red (another potential Sony collaboration), and the recently announced VR Project Bison—their final foray into virtual reality.

Last December, the studio announced the suspension of Project Victoria and scaled back development on Project Bifrost. Earlier, in April, Project Dagger, an action-adventure title partnered with Take-Two Interactive, was cancelled.

Despite these adjustments, People Can Fly still has eight known projects underway, including the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day developed in partnership with The Coalition (release date still unannounced). Project Gemini, the Square Enix collaboration, was last slated for a 2026 release.
