Gran Saga to close its doors next month

NPIXEL has announced the unfortunate closure of Gran Saga, ending its international service on April 30th, 2025. In-app purchases are already disabled, and downloads are no longer available. This marks a short lifespan for the global version, which launched only in November 2024.

While the Japanese launch in 2021 was successful, the global version struggled to gain traction in the fiercely competitive mobile gaming market. Established titles with loyal player bases created a challenging environment for Gran Saga to thrive, despite its initial promise. The closure is attributed to financial instability and the inability to maintain a sustainable player base.

This closure reflects a broader trend of gacha RPG shutdowns. The market is saturated, leading to many games failing to gain a significant player base. Players who made in-app purchases have until May 30th to request a refund, though this is subject to individual circumstances and usage of purchased items.
