GTA Duo Departing Netflix Gaming Soon

Netflix Games is losing two Grand Theft Auto titles next month: Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto Vice City. This isn't a surprise; Netflix licenses games similarly to films and shows, and these licenses are expiring on December 13th. A "Leaving Soon" notification will appear in-game before their removal.

Why the Departure?

The initial 12-month licensing agreement between Netflix and Rockstar Games is concluding. After December 13th, Netflix subscribers will no longer have access to these classic GTA titles. However, San Andreas remains on the platform.

What Are Your Options?

Fans who haven't completed these games can purchase them individually or as part of a trilogy bundle on the Google Play Store. Each title costs $4.99, or $11.99 for the complete trilogy.

Interestingly, unlike previous game removals (like Samurai Shodown V and WrestleQuest), Netflix is providing advance notice. This is particularly notable given the significant subscriber growth Netflix experienced in 2023, partly attributed to the GTA trilogy.

Future Possibilities?

Speculation suggests Rockstar and Netflix are collaborating on potential future projects, possibly remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and even Chinatown Wars. Let's hope this rumor proves true!
