New Look at GTA Lead Designer's Techno Spy Thriller, MindsEye

Leslie Benzies, the mastermind behind Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is poised to unleash his next creation: MindsEye. Recently showcased at PlayStation's State of Play, MindsEye offers a fresh glimpse into a high-octane spy thriller.

The new trailer reveals a game brimming with familiar elements reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto—third-person gunplay, stunning cinematic sequences, and thrilling drive-by shootings. Experience the intensity firsthand in the cinematic trailer below.

MindsEye follows Jacob Diaz, a protagonist equipped with a neural implant—the MindsEye—that has fractured his memories, leaving him with fragmented flashbacks from his army days. His mission? To unravel the truth behind his past, a journey that pits him against a formidable AI-powered military force.

MindsEye has been in the works for several years. Following his departure from Rockstar Games, Benzies established Build a Rocket Boy, collaborating with Hitman developer IO Interactive on this ambitious project. Initially described as a AAA action-adventure title, MindsEye will also integrate with the Everywhere platform—a project previously described as a "big-budget Roblox" following a studio visit in 2024.

While the new trailer omits mention of Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises an exhilarating action experience from a true industry heavyweight. Expect its release sometime in the summer of 2025.
