InZOI Abandons Explicit Sex Scenes

The lead developers of the upcoming life simulation game, inZOI, recently tackled some intriguing fan questions, particularly regarding the depiction of intimate interactions. When queried about the inclusion of sexual intercourse, the assistant director provided a notably ambiguous response, steering clear of explicit language. Essentially, the developers hinted that if a male ZOI and a female ZOI retreat to bed together, it implies an intent to procreate. However, the visual representation of this act is left open to the player's interpretation.

Perhaps that's exactly what's happening, but not at the level everyone expected.

This leaves players uncertain about whether inZOI will follow the censorship style seen in The Sims series or introduce a novel approach to handling such sensitive content.

Moreover, the developers addressed the curious decision for ZOIs to shower in towels instead of using pixelated censorship. They explained that pixelation tends to fit better in games with cartoonish graphics, whereas in a game aiming for realism, it can come across as overly sexualized. Additionally, they encountered a technical glitch where pixelated censorship on a naked ZOI would fail to appear in mirror reflections.

Understanding the game's approach to mature content becomes clearer when considering the ratings it has received. inZOI has been rated ESRB - T (for teens) and is expected to receive a PEGI 12 rating, aligning with the ratings given to The Sims 4. These ratings provide a framework for what kind of content players can expect, offering some clarity amidst the developers' otherwise vague responses.
