How To Join the Baldur’s Gate 3 Stress Test & Try Crossplay

Baldur's Gate 3's highly anticipated crossplay feature is finally arriving with Patch 8! While a firm release date is pending, a Patch 8 Stress Test will give select players early access in January 2025. This allows Larian Studios to identify and fix bugs before the full launch.

When is Cross-Play Available?

The crossplay functionality will debut during the Patch 8 Stress Test in January 2025, with a wider release to follow later in the year.

How to Participate in the Stress Test:

To join the Patch 8 Stress Test and experience crossplay early, register via Larian's Stress Test sign-up form. You'll need a Larian account. The registration process is quick and simple, requiring basic information about your gaming platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).

Keep in mind, registration doesn't guarantee selection. Those chosen will receive an email with further instructions. Participants will provide feedback through forms and Discord.

The Stress Test also assesses the impact of Patch 8 on mods. Mod users and creators are encouraged to participate to ensure compatibility.

Important Note: All players in your gaming group must register for the Stress Test to utilize crossplay during the testing period. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the full release.
