Jurassic World Rebirth Has a Sequence From Michael Crichton’s First Jurassic Park Novel That Didn’t Make It Into the Original Movie — and Fans Have Ideas for What It Could Be
In an exciting development for fans of the Jurassic franchise, David Koepp, the screenwriter behind the iconic 1993 Jurassic Park and the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth, has revealed that he drew inspiration from Michael Crichton's original novels for the new film. Speaking to Variety, Koepp shared that he revisited the novels to reignite his connection with the series, especially since Jurassic World Rebirth does not have a source novel to directly adapt.
Koepp disclosed that he incorporated elements from the novels into the new movie, including a specific sequence from the first Jurassic Park novel that was initially intended for the 1993 film but was ultimately omitted due to space constraints. He expressed enthusiasm about finally being able to include this scene, saying, “There was a sequence from the first novel that we’d always wanted in the original movie, but didn’t have room for. We were like, ‘Hey, we get to use that now.’”
While Koepp kept the details of this sequence under wraps, the announcement has sparked widespread speculation among fans. Various scenes from the novel have been highlighted as potential candidates, fueling excitement and anticipation for Jurassic World Rebirth.
