LEGO Unveils In-House Gaming Projects

Author : Jack Update : Apr 14,2025

LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has shared exciting news about the company's future, announcing plans to broaden its digital footprint through the development of video games. This strategic move involves crafting new titles both independently and in collaboration with other developers.

"We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing." - Niels Christiansen

This expansion into the gaming world does not mean LEGO will cease licensing its brand to third-party developers. Just last month, journalist Jason Schreier revealed that TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new LEGO game, possibly linked to one of Warner Bros.' popular franchises.

LEGO's most notable gaming endeavor to date is its ongoing partnership with Epic Games. The introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year was a massive success, quickly becoming one of the game's most beloved features.

Over the past two decades, LEGO has been closely associated with the adventure game series developed by TT Games. Although new releases from the studio have been scarce recently, there are whispers of a new LEGO Harry Potter game in development, inspired by the commercial success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Furthermore, LEGO's collaboration with 2K Games resulted in the release of LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game that hit the market last year, demonstrating the brand's adaptability and versatility within the gaming industry.
