Minecraft Movie Lego Sets Gives Insight Into Which Mobs Will Appear in the Jack Black Film

Lego has unveiled an exciting range of A Minecraft Movie sets that not only build anticipation for the upcoming Jack Black-led live-action film but also offer a glimpse into the mobs and characters fans can expect to see on the big screen. As reported by Games Radar, the announced sets include the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack, which will complement the existing lineup of regular Minecraft Lego sets and feature figures of characters such as Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's The Garbage Man.

The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring set, priced at $49.99 and comprising 491 pieces, hints at a thrilling gladiator-style battle scene in the film. It showcases Momoa's character, The Garbage Man, engaging in combat with a zombie atop a giant chicken. While it's unclear whether this represents a baby zombie on a regular-sized chicken or is scaled to show a larger-than-life creature, the entire setup is roughly twice the height of The Garbage Man. The set also includes Steve, his friend Henry, and a giant zombie pigman, along with a fighting ring, a chest filled with gold, and a small viewing stand equipped with weapons.

Meanwhile, the Ghast Balloon Village Attack set, retailing at $69.99 with 555 pieces, confirms the appearance of the Nether's iconic marshmallow-like villain, the Ghast, in the movie. This set depicts a grand battle scene occurring in a regular overworld village. Included in the set are one village minifigure, two piglin, Steve, characters named Natalie and Dawn, and an iron golem.

Both sets will be available starting March 1, just a month before A Minecraft Movie premieres in theaters on April 4. The film, which was fully revealed in September, faced immediate backlash from fans due to the contrast between the live-action characters and the animated world created with green screen technology. In response, one fan even reimagined the trailer in a fully animated format. Addressing these concerns, the film's director and producer told IGN in November that they were prepared for any feedback and ready to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience.
