NieR: Automata: Best Machine Arm Farming Locations

Quick Links

In NieR: Automata, upgrading your weapons and pod requires a long list of crafting materials. Many are easier to find later, but acquiring them early gives you a significant advantage. One particularly rare material is Machine Arms. While the name suggests abundance, they're surprisingly elusive, especially early in the game. Here's how to track them down.

Where To Farm Machine Arms In NieR: Automata

Machine Arms have a chance of dropping from defeated small machines. However, the drop rate increases with enemy level, making them scarce early on. To farm them effectively early in the game, focus on quickly eliminating large numbers of machines.

After completing Chapter 4, and your first encounter with Adam, the arena where you fought him becomes a constant respawn point for enemies, including many small machines. Access this area via the Desert: Housing Complex fast travel point and follow the path into the ruins.

The machines here respawn rapidly, providing a steady stream of targets. While their low level means a low drop rate for Machine Arms, the high respawn rate makes it the most efficient early-game farming method. This location is also excellent for farming Titanium Alloy.

Using a Drop Rate Plug-In Chip can slightly improve your chances.
