"Peacemaker Season 2 Trailer Unveils Superman Ties, Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner"

Max has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, which significantly enhances its ties to the Superman narrative by introducing Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner right from the opening scene.

The trailer begins with Sean Gunn portraying Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, who are seen interviewing John Cena's Peacemaker for a potential superhero team. The interview quickly turns sour, leaving Peacemaker visibly dejected as he exits the building.

These characters offer a first glimpse at some of the supporting cast members who will also feature in James Gunn's upcoming Superman film.

Peacemaker Season 2 is set to premiere on August 21, following the release of Superman on July 11. This makes it the third installment in the new DCU, which began with the Creature Commandos TV series late last year.

James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are steering the DCU away from the critically criticized DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, certain elements will carry over into the new universe.

Peacemaker serves as a prime example of this transition, with its first season originating in the now-defunct DCEU, while its second season firmly positions itself within the new DCU.

Additionally, Gunn has stated that the series will be set after the events of both Creature Commandos and Superman, with the events of the latter directly impacting Peacemaker.
