Pirate Software Ejected from OnlyFangs WoW Guild

Pirate Software has been expelled from the World of Warcraft streamer guild, OnlyFangs, following a disastrous run in Dire Maul North. This dungeon, recently introduced to the World of Warcraft Anniversary servers, has already led to several Hardcore deaths within the guild.

Before Blizzard officially launched Hardcore servers for its Classic client in August 2023, players had been self-imposing zero-death rules. The popularity of these servers waned until the introduction of Anniversary servers in November 2024, which revitalized World of Warcraft Classic and significantly reduced the population on the original Classic servers. Since their launch, numerous Hardcore players have met their demise, while a few have successfully reached level 60 under these stringent conditions. Among the recent casualties are Sara and Snupy, and as a result, Sodapoppin, the Guild Master of OnlyFangs, has taken decisive action against the player responsible.

Multiple social media posts have confirmed that Pirate Software was removed from OnlyFangs. In a Discord statement, Sodapoppin explained that the majority of guild members felt uneasy continuing to play with Pirate Software after the deaths of two members during the Dire Maul North run. The incident occurred when the group, after pulling aggro on a boss before clearing a pack of Gordok ogres, attempted to reset the enemies by fleeing the dungeon. Pirate Software abandoned the group during their escape, leading to the unfortunate deaths of Sara and Snupy. Despite the possibility of remaining in the guild under normal circumstances, Pirate Software refused to accept responsibility for his actions, which ultimately led to his removal. A video of the incident, which includes strong language, is available for those interested in the full context.

Reasons Behind Pirate Software's Expulsion

The primary criticism leveled against Pirate Software was his refusal to acknowledge his role in the two Hardcore deaths, particularly his ineffective use of crowd control abilities. During a post-run analysis, Sodapoppin highlighted that Pirate Software could have utilized Blizzard rank 1 to slow down the dangerous enemies without depleting his mana reserves excessively. Additionally, fellow OnlyFangs member Mizkif suggested that Pirate Software's expulsion was also influenced by threats he made to other streamers following the Dire Maul incident. In response to his removal, Pirate Software took to Twitter to express his belief that the situation was not handled appropriately.

Since the guild's reformation on the Anniversary server Doomhowl, several members have been expelled from OnlyFangs. Some of these former members may form their own groups. With Blizzard continuing to update World of Warcraft Classic with patches that accurately reflect the Vanilla experience, the addition of new dungeons and raids could lead to further Hardcore deaths within OnlyFangs and the broader community.
