Pokémon Go Announces Festive 'Holiday Part 1'

Pokémon Go's Holiday Part One event kicks off December 17th and runs through the 22nd, bringing festive cheer and exciting rewards. Expect double XP for catching Pokémon, halved egg hatching distances, and encounters with Pokémon sporting holiday attire.

This event introduces a costumed Dedenne (with a shiny variant!), and for the first time, a shiny Sandygast. Wild Pokémon encounters include Alolan Sandshrew, Swinub, and Darumaka. Raids will feature festively dressed Pikachu, Psyduck, Glaceon, and Cryogonal, alongside Mega Latias and Mega Latios.

7km Eggs hold the possibility of hatching Hisuian Growlithe or a ribbon-adorned Cubchoo. Players can earn rewards through themed Field Research tasks, a paid Timed Research ($2.00), and Collection Challenges (offering Stardust, Poké Balls, and Great Balls). Don't forget to check out PokéStop Showcases to display your decked-out Pokémon! Free in-game items are also available via redeemable codes.
