Pokémon GO’s ‘Safari Ball in the Wild Area’ Event Coming Soon

What's the Pokémon GO Safari Ball?

Veteran Pokémon fans will recognize Safari Zones from the main series games. These special areas allow catching rare Pokémon without battles – a concept Niantic is bringing to Pokémon GO with their Wild Area event.

Pokémon GO hasn't seen many new Poké Ball additions. We regularly use the standard Poké Ball, Great Ball, and Ultra Ball. There are also Premier Balls and the elusive Master Ball.

The Wild Area event runs globally from November 23rd to November 24th, 2024, concluding at 6:15 pm local time. Important note: Unused Safari Balls vanish from your inventory after the event ends.

During the event, the Safari Ball becomes your primary tool for catching powerful Pokémon. Niantic's decision to introduce this ball during a new event, rather than existing Safari Zone or City Safari events, adds an element of intrigue.
