PUBG Mobile World Cup Finals on the Horizon
PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup: 12 Teams Remain
The first stage of the PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup (EWC), held in Saudi Arabia as part of the larger Gamers8 event, has concluded. The initial 24 teams have been whittled down to a final 12, setting the stage for a thrilling final showdown. A significant portion of the $3 million prize pool is still up for grabs.
For those unfamiliar with the EWC, it's an esports tournament showcasing some of the world's most popular games. PUBG Mobile's participation has proven highly successful, with Alliance currently leading the pack.
Following a week-long break, the final stage will commence from July 27th to 28th. Before then, however, the 12 eliminated teams will have a chance to reclaim their spot. From July 23rd to 24th, they'll compete in the Survival Stage, battling for two coveted positions in the main event.
Global Impact
While the long-term impact of the PUBG Mobile World Cup on the global gaming scene remains to be seen, its presence at the EWC has certainly generated significant buzz. It's worth noting, however, that despite its name, this isn't the largest event on the PUBG Mobile esports calendar. With other major competitions planned for later this year, the EWC's impact might be lessened over time.
Nevertheless, the Survival Stage promises intense competition, and fans can look forward to two final teams earning a place in the main event. In the meantime, check out our list of the best mobile games of 2024 to stay entertained until the final stage begins.
