Koei Tecmo's Q1 2024 financial report showcased upcoming projects, including a new title from Omega Force. "Dynasty Warriors: Origins," a tactical action game, marks the first mainline entry in the series since 2018's Dynasty Warriors 9 (excluding its 2022 expansion). Launching in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam), this new installment features a "Nameless Hero" and is set during China's Three Kingdoms period (220-280 AD).

The report also announced the global release of two other titles: Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake (October 2024 on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC) celebrating the original's 20th anniversary, and FAIRY TAIL 2 (this winter on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC), a sequel to the 2020 RPG. Beyond these, Koei Tecmo is developing several unannounced titles, including at least one AAA game.

Meanwhile, strong repeat sales of Rise of the Ronin fueled Koei Tecmo's Q1 2024 console video game profits. The company anticipates continued strong sales for this open-world action RPG, viewing it as a crucial step towards establishing itself as a major AAA developer.

Earlier this year, Koei Tecmo declared its ambition to become a leading AAA developer, even establishing a new AAA studio to achieve this goal. This new studio is reportedly already working on its first project. The recent financial report confirms the company's ongoing development of several unannounced titles, including at least one AAA game, though specifics remain under wraps.

AAA games, characterized by their high budgets, extensive development, and large teams, represent Koei Tecmo's strategic focus. As stated in their report, "To expand the Company’s lineup of titles, AAA Studio was established. In order to achieve medium- to long-term growth, we will continue to build a system that enables us to release large-scale titles on a continuous basis."
