Starfield players have much to anticipate. On March 7th, 2025, the official Starfield Twitter (X) account teased significant plans for the game this year. While specifics remain under wraps, the developers confirmed they're actively working on something substantial, promising exciting developments for 2025 and assuring fans that player feedback is being carefully considered.

Game director Todd Howard's June 2024 interview with MrMattyPlays, hinting at yearly DLC for Starfield, further fuels speculation that this announcement may foreshadow a new expansion.

A Look Back at Starfield's Post-Launch Journey

Launched in 2023 to critical acclaim and mixed reviews, Starfield nonetheless became a top-selling title. While some felt it fell short of the experience offered by previous Bethesda games like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, the game has received numerous updates since its release, improving features, mechanics, and adding new content.

The game's first (and so far only) DLC, Shattered Space, released in September 2024, unfortunately received a "Mostly Negative" reception on Steam. Criticism centered around repetitive fetch quests, short main questlines, and a lack of engaging new enemies and gameplay mechanics.
