VoiceTra employs advanced speech recognition, translation, and speech synthesis technologies developed by Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). It converts your speech into another language and delivers the result with a synthesized voice.

Translation direction can be switched instantly, enabling two people speaking different languages to communicate using just one device.

Text input is available for languages that do not support speech input.

VoiceTra is ideal for travel-related dialogue and recommended for situations such as:

Users are responsible for any communication charges incurred while using the app. International data roaming fees can be particularly high.

This application was developed for research purposes, allowing individuals to test it during travel. It uses research-oriented servers, and collected data helps improve speech translation technology.
