Buy Xbox Games on Android via Xbox App Soon!
Exciting news for Xbox fans! Xbox president Sarah Bond recently announced that the long-awaited Xbox mobile store is on its way, and we might see an Xbox Android app with special features as early as next month. Imagine the thrill of buying and playing games directly from your Android device!
What's The Full Scoop?
The Xbox mobile app is set to launch in November, allowing Xbox players to purchase and play games directly on their Android devices. Sarah Bond shared this exciting update on X, highlighting how a recent court ruling against Google will now enable the Google Play Store to offer a broader range of options and increased flexibility.
This ruling stems from Google's four-year antitrust battle with Epic Games. The court has mandated that Google must provide rival third-party app stores with access to the full catalogue of Google Play apps and allow the distribution of these third-party stores for three years, starting November 1st, 2024, and ending on November 1st, 2027, unless developers choose to opt out individually.
So, What’s The Big Deal With The New Xbox App On Android?
Currently, the Xbox app on Android enables users to download games to their Xbox consoles and stream games from the cloud if they have Game Pass Ultimate. However, the new app launching in November will allow direct game purchases within the app itself.
We'll have a clearer understanding of all the features Xbox is bringing to Android once November rolls around. For more detailed information, check out this [ttpp]CNBC article[ttpp].
