"Captain America: Brave New World" has soared above expectations, raking in an impressive $100 million domestically during the Presidents Day holiday weekend. According to box office revenue tracker Comscore, the latest Marvel Studios blockbuster earned an estimated $88.5 million across 4,105 theaters over the traditional three-day weekend, with projections reaching $100 million over the four-day holiday. Internationally, the film added another $92.4 million, bringing its global weekend total to a robust $192.4 million.

With a production budget of $180 million, "Captain America: Brave New World" needs to hit a global box office of approximately $425 million to break even. The film's opening weekend performance marks it as the fourth-best Presidents Day launch ever, trailing only behind three other superhero giants: "Black Panther" ($242 million), "Deadpool" ($152 million), and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" ($120 million).

Despite its strong box office debut, "Captain America: Brave New World" has faced critical challenges, receiving lukewarm reviews. IGN's review scored it a 5/10, stating, "Captain America: Brave New World feels neither brave, nor all that new, falling short of strong performances from Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, and Carl Lumbly."

The industry is closely watching to see if "Captain America: Brave New World" can sustain its momentum and reverse the recent downward trend for Marvel Cinematic Universe movies—excluding last year's blockbuster hit, "Deadpool & Wolverine." Its performance will be crucial as Marvel gears up for the releases of "Thunderbolts*" in May and "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" in July.
