Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War
Fans of the iconic strategy game ROME: Total War on Android have something to celebrate with the release of the massive Imperium Update by Feral Interactive. This update, which brings a host of gameplay tweaks, control enhancements, and quality-of-life features, is a game-changer for those who've enjoyed this classic since its mobile launch in 2018. And the excitement doesn't stop there—standalone expansions Barbarian Invasion and Alexander are set to receive the same update next week.
What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?
The Imperium Update enriches ROME: Total War by integrating some of the top features from Feral's more recent mobile titles, such as Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE. Players can now enjoy three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection, which offer enhanced command over units and precision in battles. Now, you can easily move your army, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need to drag paths manually.
Positioning Mode allows for fine-tuning unit placements with a tap-and-hold mechanism, while the Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups with a collapsible selection menu. Additionally, Melee Mode enables ranged units to switch to close combat when necessary, adding tactical depth to your gameplay.
One of the standout additions is the Command Slowdown feature, which automatically reduces game speed when issuing complex orders, giving you more time to strategize. Another first for the series on Android and iPad is the introduction of keyboard and mouse support, enhancing the control experience.
The update also revamps the minimap to resemble that of MEDIEVAL II, with smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button makes it easy to return to the default view, enhancing user-friendliness.
The Imperium Update is now available for ROME: Total War on Android via the Google Play Store. Don't miss out on the improved gameplay experience. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to Barbarian Invasion and Alexander next week.
