Football Manager 2025 Cancellation Announced Across All Platforms
It's a somber day for fans of the beloved sports simulation series as Football Manager 2025 has been officially canceled across all platforms, including the much-anticipated mobile version. Sports Interactive, the developer behind the franchise, had previously delayed the game's release, but in a sudden announcement, they've decided to pull the plug on Football Manager 2025 entirely. The reason cited was their inability to meet the expected technical quality standards. However, they reassured fans that their focus is now shifting to the development of the next installment in the series.
This cancellation is particularly disheartening for fans, not least because Football Manager 25 was set to debut on Netflix Games for mobile, a move that promised to bring the franchise to a broader audience. With this plan now in jeopardy, the future of the series on the streaming platform remains uncertain.
A Step Too Far
It's understandable that fans are feeling frustrated with this late-stage cancellation, especially since the latest release date was slated for March of this year. Adding to the disappointment is the news that there will be no updates to Football Manager 24 to bridge the gap. While it's commendable that Sports Interactive is committed to not releasing a substandard product, the handling of this situation could have been more considerate to the fans. Hopefully, when Football Manager 26 is eventually announced, we'll see the series return to Netflix Games.
