Forza Horizon 5 Coming to PS5
In an exciting turn of events, Xbox's beloved racing game, Forza Horizon 5, is making its way to PlayStation. Playground Games recently announced that this latest installment in the Forza Horizon series will be available on PS5 this spring. This move follows the trend of other Xbox exclusives like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle expanding to PlayStation consoles.
The PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5 has been meticulously developed by Panic Button, in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games. Players can expect the same rich content as the Xbox and PC versions, including Car Packs, and the thrilling Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions.
This strategic move aligns with Xbox's growing interest in broadening its reach to non-Xbox platforms, such as PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has publicly expressed intentions to support the upcoming Switch 2. In the latest investor call, Microsoft disclosed that while Indiana Jones and the Great Circle attracted 4 million players and Game Pass on PC saw a 30% growth, boosting services revenue by 2%, overall gaming revenue declined due to a nearly 30% drop in console sales. This situation may encourage Xbox to further prioritize Game Pass and expand its game offerings to other hardware.
Forza Horizon 5 continues the legacy of the open-world racing series, offering a slightly more arcade-like experience compared to its racing sim counterpart, Forza Motorsport. Set in the stunning landscapes of Mexico, the game allows players to race and explore at their leisure. For a deeper dive into the game, you can read our comprehensive review [ttpp].
