New Game of Thrones Illustrated Edition Set for November Release
George R.R. Martin recently thrilled fans with a new update on his blog, but it wasn't about the long-awaited *The Winds of Winter*. Instead, he unveiled the cover for the next illustrated edition of *A Song of Ice and Fire* series: *A Feast for Crows*. This marks the fourth book in the series to receive a stunning illustrated edition, with artwork by the talented Jeffrey R. McDonald. Set for release on November 4, 2025, you can preorder this special edition from top retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Target, among others.

This news is especially exciting for collectors of the illustrated editions. It has been five years since the last illustrated release, *A Storm of Swords*, which came out in November 2020. The new edition of *A Feast for Crows* will also feature a foreword by Joe Abercrombie. Martin has promised to share some of the interior illustrations later this spring, giving fans a sneak peek before the book's release. For those looking to start their collection, the first three illustrated entries in *A Song of Ice and Fire* are already available.

What About The Winds of Winter?
Fans eagerly awaiting *The Winds of Winter* may have to continue their wait. In a December 2024 interview, Martin expressed concerns about completing the book within his lifetime, following his November 2023 update where he confirmed having written 1,100 pages. Although disappointing, there remains hope that the series might be completed by someone else. With the fourth illustrated edition on the horizon, it seems likely that the first five special editions will be finished before *The Winds of Winter* sees the light of day.
