Embracer has celebrated the resounding success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, revealing that the game is approaching the 2 million sales milestone. Launched on February 4 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, this sequel from Warhorse Studios sold an impressive 1 million copies within just one day of release, and has now nearly doubled that figure in a mere 10 days.

This medieval Europe action role-playing game has proven to be a massive hit, especially on Steam, where it achieved a peak concurrent player count of over 250,000. This is a significant leap from the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which had a peak of 96,069 players on Steam seven years ago. It's important to note that the total peak concurrent player count for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is likely even higher, considering its availability on consoles as well, although Sony and Microsoft do not disclose player numbers.

Embracer, which owns Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, has lauded the game's initial success, citing not only its commercial performance but also its positive reception from both players and critics. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors expressed his pride in the dedication and hard work of Warhorse Studios and their publisher, Deep Silver. He believes that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will continue to generate significant revenue in the coming years, thanks to its exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal. The studio has planned a comprehensive roadmap, including updates and new content over the next 12 months, to keep the community engaged and the game evolving.

In addition to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Embracer is gearing up for the release of Killing Floor 3 later this quarter (January to March 2025). The company boasts a workforce of over 5,000 game developers currently working on its upcoming titles, with plans to release 10 triple-A games over the next three financial years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these games are being developed by internal studios, while two are from external studios.

For FY 2025/26, Embracer has scheduled the release of two triple-A games towards the end of the financial year. Alongside these, a series of mid-size releases are planned, including Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, the console version of Satisfactory, and the full release of Wreckfest 2, along with other mid-sized games yet to be announced.

Despite facing challenges in recent years, including significant layoffs and the sale of several studios like Gearbox and Saber Interactive, Embracer still owns 4A Games, the developers behind the Metro series, who are currently working on a new installment.
