Konami Celebrates Silent Hill 2 Remake Hitting 2 Million Sales

Author : Michael Update : May 02,2025

Konami has celebrated the remarkable success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, which has surpassed 2 million sales. Developed by Bloober Team, the game was released on October 8, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. While there's no news yet on a version for Xbox Series X and S, the game achieved an impressive milestone by selling one million copies just days after its launch. This rapid sales pace suggests it could be the fastest-selling Silent Hill game ever, though Konami has not officially confirmed this record.

"Since its release, Silent Hill 2 has received a multitude of accolades, including several 'perfect' review scores, multiple award wins, and nominations, cementing itself as a timeless entry in the horror video game genre," Konami stated.

IGN's review of the Silent Hill 2 remake awarded it an 8/10, with our team noting, "Silent Hill 2 is a great way to visit – or revisit – one of the most dread-inducing destinations in the history of survival horror."

The success of the Silent Hill 2 remake may encourage Konami to further expand the franchise, which has seen increased activity in recent years. Projects like Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall are still in development, and there's also a film adaptation of Silent Hill 2 in the works.

On the modding front, PC players are making significant modifications to the Silent Hill 2 remake, such as removing hair sheen and the game's iconic fog, and even transforming the setting into "Sunny Hills."

The remake includes new puzzles and redesigned maps. For those needing assistance, our Silent Hill 2 Walkthrough Hub offers comprehensive guides on navigating the game, understanding the Silent Hill 2 Remake endings, locating all Key Locations, and exploring what changes in New Game+.
