KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Shutdown - Offline Version in the Works?
For the third day in a row, we're discussing the end of service for another game. Today, on January 30th, marks the final day for KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, with servers set to shut down imminently. So, what's next for the game and its community?
How Long Did This One Last?
KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, developed by Sumzap and initially published by Nexon before being handed over to Sesisoft, enjoyed a decent run. Despite its quality, the game's lifespan was relatively brief. The global servers operated for 3.5 years, while the Japanese version lasted an impressive 5 years. For an anime-based gacha game, this duration is quite respectable, especially given the declining revenue in recent times.
The developers have since shifted their focus to the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade gacha game. In the lead-up to the shutdown, they maintained engagement by releasing voiced story updates and a final song just three weeks ago. They also hosted a farewell livestream in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, to bid a proper goodbye to the community.
The Japanese version of the game went the extra mile by archiving the entire main story on their YouTube channel, allowing fans to relive the adventures of Kazuma and his quirky crew at any time. Moreover, an offline version was provided, enabling players to continue enjoying the game's story, voicelines, and character collection.
Unfortunately, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global won't have an offline version or a dedicated YouTube channel. However, fans can still visit the Japanese YouTube channel to spend more time with beloved characters like Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and the rest of the gang.
This concludes our coverage on the shutdown of KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global. Stay tuned for our next piece on Karrablast and Shelmet during the February Community Day event in Pokémon Go.
