Marvel Rivals Rumored for Nintendo Switch 2 Release

Once considered an impossibility, the idea of Marvel Rivals coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 now seems more feasible than ever. Although NetEase had previously ruled out a release on the original Switch due to technical limitations, the upcoming successor could potentially overcome these challenges.

During the DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu disclosed that discussions with Nintendo are actively underway. The primary hurdle? Ensuring the game runs smoothly and consistently on the new hardware:

"The first-generation Switch simply didn’t have the power to deliver the gameplay experience we envisioned. But if the Switch 2 can handle it, we’re absolutely ready to bring the game to the platform."

Image: opencritic.com Earlier, game director Thaddeus Sasser clarified that there were no immediate plans for a mobile version or an original Switch release. If a Switch 2 port comes to fruition, it will likely necessitate a custom build tailored to the new hardware's capabilities.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 officially announced, industry giants are rallying behind the platform. Phil Spencer has hinted at Xbox's interest in bringing its catalog to the system, while Electronic Arts (EA) has also expressed its support.

Meanwhile, Marvel Rivals is set for further expansion, with two members of the Fantastic Four expected to join the fray in upcoming updates.
