Nintendo Switch 2 Fans Think They've Figured Out the New Physical Game Case Size
Nintendo Switch 2 fans are buzzing, but not about the console itself. The excitement now centers around something seemingly minor: the size of its game cases. A French retailer, Fnac, seemingly leaked the dimensions, sparking a flurry of discussion.
According to Nintendo Life, journalist Felipe Lima discovered a Take-Two Interactive game listing on Fnac revealing the dimensions. If accurate, Nintendo Switch 2 game boxes will be slightly larger than those for the original Switch. A Reddit post by HertzBurst visually compares the two, showcasing the difference. The leaked dimensions are reportedly 5.1 inches (13 cm) by 7.7 inches (19.5 cm).

This increase is modest, keeping the cases smaller than those used for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 games. While unofficial, the early release of these dimensions to retailers makes sense for logistical purposes like preparing store displays.
A release date remains unconfirmed by Nintendo, but speculation points to a launch between June and September. This is fueled by hands-on events scheduled until June and Nacon's statement that Greedfall 2 will release before September on the new console.
The Nintendo Switch 2 was unveiled in January with a short trailer highlighting backward compatibility and a second USB-C port. Many details remain shrouded in mystery, including the game lineup and the function of a new Joy-Con button (though the "Joy-Con mouse" theory has gained some traction).
