Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders Begin April 9

Nintendo has officially unveiled the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, setting preorders to begin on April 9 in the United States and April 8 in the UK. The next-generation console is slated for release on June 5, 2025, and will retail at $449.99. Alongside the standard version, a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle will be available for $499.99 in the US, offering the system along with a download code for the Mario Kart World game from launch day. For those looking to buy Mario Kart World separately, it will be priced at $79.99.

You can also register your interest with Nintendo for preorders of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories at My Nintendo Store. Priority for purchase invitations will be given to users with a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and at least 50 gameplay hours as of April 2, 2025. Invitations will be sent via email on a first-come, first-served basis and are valid for 72 hours. You're limited to purchasing one system and one of each accessory per account. Major retailers are expected to open preorders on April 9, 2025, as well.
