Silksong Developer Reaffirms Release for Switch 1

Following the brief showcase of Silksong during the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, many fans speculated that the game might bypass the current generation console in favor of the next-gen. However, Silksong was initially announced in 2019 for PC and the original Switch, with subsequent confirmations for PlayStation and Xbox console releases.

To address these concerns, Matthew Griffin, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, took to Twitter (now known as X) on April 8. He reassured fans that Silksong will indeed be available on both the original Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2.

While details on how these versions will differ are still under wraps, it's anticipated that the Switch 2 version will benefit from higher resolution and enhanced features thanks to the new console's capabilities.

New Silksong Images Revealed

In the wake of the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2, fresh images of Silksong surfaced on Nintendo Japan’s official website. These images, while showcasing familiar locations, displayed noticeable graphical enhancements compared to their 2019 counterparts.

Despite Team Cherry's usual reticence about game details, the recent Switch 2 Direct appearance and the new images have fueled speculation that an official release date announcement could be imminent. Additionally, recent updates to Silksong's Steam metadata have further ignited fans' hopes for a release in the near future.
