"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025"

Fans of the eagerly anticipated Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will have to wait a bit longer, as the game has been delayed once again, now slated for release in October 2025. This news comes from a recent game update video shared by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. While the delay pushes the release a few months beyond the previously targeted first half of 2025, there's some good news: the game is reportedly complete.

Executive Producer Marco Behrmann shared in the update, "The status of the game right now is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases." Despite the delay being another setback in a series of postponements, the update video brings some positive developments. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. Players can also look forward to an "evolved role" for the character Fabien in the storyline.

However, the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page has announced that updates will be less frequent moving forward. For those familiar with the game's troubled history, it's no surprise that this narrative-driven vampire game has faced numerous delays since its announcement in 2019. Originally developed by Hardsuit Labs with a planned launch in Q1 2020, the game saw its first delay to late 2020, followed by shifts to 2021, and then further delays accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. In a significant change, Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release before this latest delay to October 2025.

With the game's release date now set for October 2025, there's cautious optimism from The Chinese Room about delivering a polished experience. Meanwhile, Paradox Interactive has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 succeed upon release, "someone else" will take on the development of Bloodlines 3.
