Author : Adam Update : May 02,2025

After engaging in the "Visions of Truth" main mission and speaking with the C-Consciousness Representative, you'll receive a call from Dr. Shcherba in *Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl*. He'll ask Skif for a favor, which, if accepted, initiates the side mission "In The Name of Science." This quest involves collecting electronic collars from various mutants scattered across designated locations in The Zone.

How to Find All the Electronic Collars for Dr. Shcherba

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl - In The Name of Science mission

The "In The Name of Science" mission requires you to gather five electronic collars from the following locations:

RegionCollar LocationMutant
GarbageThe BroodSnork
Wild IslandBoathousePsy Bayun
ZatonHydrodynamics LabController
MalachiteBrain ScorcherKill or Buy Collar from Yevhen Mamay
Red ForestContainersPseudogiant

Once all collars are collected, return to Shcherba at the Roofed Warehouse in the Chemical Plant region. Be aware that if you've previously collected these collars and traded them, the mission might get bugged. To progress, use the console command "XEndQuestNodeBySID E08_SQ01_S2_SetJournal_WaitForSherbaCall_Finish_Pin_0."

Should You Disable or Recalibrate the Jamming Device?

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl - Jamming Device Choice

Upon delivering the collars, Shcherba identifies a jamming signal affecting their functionality. You're tasked with locating and addressing the source at the Storage on the Hill west of the Roofed Warehouse. Inside, you'll encounter poltergeists, zombified soldiers, and rodent mutants before reaching the jamming device. You have two options:

Destroy/Disable the Jammer (Recommended)
Progressing the mission, you'll receive coupons from Shcherba and face additional encounters with bloodsuckers, leading to further mission developments.
Recalibrate the Jammer
This option concludes the mission with Dvupalov sending coupons to Skif as a reward.

Should You Kill or Let Shcherba Go During the "In The Name of Science" Quest?

Choosing to disable the jamming device leads to Shcherba informing Skif that the collars are operational. After receiving coupons and waiting for Shcherba's next call, you can proceed by completing other missions or resting. If Shcherba doesn't call, use the console command "XStartQuestNodeBySID E08_SQ01_S3_Technical_SherbaInvitedToLab."

When Shcherba calls you back to his lab, you'll receive two bottles of Magic Vodka from Dr. Dvupalov. Upon entering the lower floor, you'll confront Shcherba and three Bloodsuckers. After navigating a trap involving PSI-Radiation and using the Magic Vodka to negate its effects, you'll face a final choice:

Kill Shcherba
Both choices yield the same rewards, but killing Shcherba might strain relations with scientists and Dvupalov.
Let Shcherba Go (Recommended)
Letting Shcherba go maintains good relations with the scientific community and Dvupalov, which is beneficial for future interactions.

Regardless of your choice, you'll receive a Gauss Gun from Dvupalov and unlock the "On a Leash" trophy in *Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl*.
