Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”
Remedy Entertainment's ambition is to become a leading force in the gaming industry. Inspired by Naughty Dog, particularly their Uncharted series, Remedy aims to be "Europe's Naughty Dog," according to Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley.
In a Behind The Voice podcast interview, Rowley detailed how this aspiration shaped Quantum Break and, subsequently, Alan Wake 2. He explicitly stated their goal: to be the European equivalent of the acclaimed American studio.
This influence is clear in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, praised for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The game's success has cemented Remedy's place as a top European developer.
Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (the latter a record-breaking award winner), serves as a benchmark.
Alan Wake 2, even over a year post-launch, continues to receive updates enhancing gameplay across all platforms. These improvements include significant optimizations for the PS5 Pro. A new "Balanced" graphics option combines elements of the PS5 Pro Performance and Quality modes.
These updates also refine graphical settings for smoother frame rates and clearer visuals, alongside addressing minor bugs impacting gameplay, especially within the Lake House expansion.
