In a recent Ubisoft website interview, CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed multiple Assassin's Creed remakes are underway, although he didn't specify which titles. He stated, "Players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we've created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin's Creed games that are still extremely rich." This suggests classic Assassin's Creed entries will receive a complete overhaul.

Guillemot also promised a diverse range of Assassin's Creed experiences in the coming years. He explained, "There will be plenty of experience variety. The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year."

Upcoming titles like Assassin's Creed Hexe (targeting a 2026 launch) and Assassin's Creed Shadows (releasing November 15, 2024), promise unique experiences. Hexe, set in 16th-century Europe, and Shadows, set in feudal Japan, will offer distinct settings and gameplay. Additionally, the mobile game Assassin's Creed Jade is anticipated in 2025.

Ubisoft has a history of remastering its classics, including Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection (2016) and Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered (2018). While rumors of an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake circulated last year, official confirmation is still pending.

Guillemot also discussed advancements in game development technology. He highlighted Assassin's Creed Shadows' dynamic weather system, impacting gameplay and visuals. He emphasized his belief in generative AI's potential to enhance game worlds.

Guillemot noted, "Technology is evolving at such a pace that there are limitless possibilities for evolution. In Assassin's Creed Shadows, for example, we have a weather system that will affect its gameplay; ponds that were once swimmable might freeze, for instance."

He continued, "Visually, we're also seeing a big step forward for the series. I have also been very vocal about the potential I see in generative AI and how it can enrich NPCs to be more intelligent, more interactive. This could potentially extend to animals in the world, to the world itself. There is still so much we can do to enrich these open worlds to be even more dynamic."
