REPO to Adjust Overcharge and Difficulty Scaling

The developers of REPO are planning to fine-tune the game's difficulty scaling by introducing new mechanics every 10 levels. Here's a closer look at the upcoming adjustments to the Overcharge mechanic and insights from the developers during the open beta.
Latest Updates on REPO Development
Revamping the Overcharge System
Following the recent open beta, REPO gathered valuable player feedback, prompting developer Semiwork to reevaluate the Overcharge feature.
Overcharge lets players counter enemies by lifting and throwing them against hard surfaces or away from allies. However, this ability isn't unlimited—players must manage an Overcharge meter. Once the meter fills up, their character will explode.

Originally, Overcharge was available from level one. Now, it will unlock at level 10. The team also plans to roll out additional challenging mechanics every 10 levels (e.g., levels 20, 30, etc.), with Overcharge serving as the first step in this progressive difficulty system.
These mechanics will be woven into the game's lore. As Semiwork explained, "This system will tie into the storyline—it's not just a standalone feature. There's a meaningful background behind it, and we'll share more details soon."
Developers Played Incognito in Open Beta

During the open beta, Semiwork developers joined random matchmaking sessions anonymously, engaging with players to gather ideas for improvements. Developer Pontus Sundstrom expressed his delight in seeing players enjoy the new content.
"I played alongside many of you—incognito, through the random matchmaking," Sundstrom shared. "I took the chance to ask questions and learn what you're finding most enjoyable."
Semiwork is committed to refining REPO based on community feedback from the beta. Players can anticipate more enhancements in future updates, with the developers promising further announcements. For the latest news on R.E.P.O., check out our article below!
