Jak and Daxter: Misty Island Power Cells Guide

Author : Mia Update : Apr 19,2025

Misty Island looms ominously on the horizon throughout the early stages of *Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy*. As the site of the game's pivotal moment where Daxter undergoes his transformation into an Ottsel, it's no surprise that Jak and his furry companion might be hesitant to revisit. However, for those brave enough to explore, Misty Island is brimming with hidden treasures and secrets, provided you can find a way to reach it.

To set sail for Misty Island, you'll first need to assist the fisherman at the river in the Forbidden Jungle by catching 200 pounds of prime fish. Accomplishing this task will reward you with a Power Cell and the fisherman's blessing to use his Speedboat, docked back in Sandover Village, to journey to Misty Island.

Catch the Sculptor's Muse

Upon arrival at Misty Island, your initial mission is to reclaim the Sculptor's Lost Muse. If you've conversed with him back in the Village, you'll be on the lookout for a golden creature resembling Daxter in size and form. You'll find the Muse near the docks upon your arrival, though it's anything but cooperative, darting around to evade capture. To nab it, you'll need to chase it through the initial section of Misty Island, utilizing roll jumps to keep pace. Strategically breaking large bones along its path creates makeshift bridges for Jak, enabling you to pursue the Muse more effectively. Learn its route, hone your platforming skills, and seize the opportunity to corner it at a sharp turn or launch Jak into it with a well-timed roll jump. Once you've secured the Muse, you must return it to the Sculptor in Sandover Village to claim a Power Cell. However, with more to explore on Misty Island, it's wise to save this task for last.

Use Blue Eco to Reach the Power Cell

After securing the Muse, return to its original location and veer right to encounter a platforming area dotted with blue eco orbs, leading to a Precursor Door. Gather as much Blue Eco as possible as you navigate to the right, bypassing the door for now and aiming for the Precursor Platform depicted in image 3. By touching the platform while charged with Blue Eco, you'll be able to cross the gap and claim the Power Cell.

Return to the Dark Eco Pool

Your next Power Cell lies near the beginning of your Misty Island adventure, but first, you'll face an arena battle. Charge up with Blue Eco and head towards the large Precursor Door mentioned earlier. This door leads to an arena where you'll fend off waves of Lurkers while dodging explosive barrages from above. Utilize the Red Eco dropped by the Lurkers to enhance your combat prowess and keep moving to evade the explosives. Once you've cleared the arena, ascend the newly revealed stairs to reach the Dark Eco Pool and collect your Power Cell.

Climb the Lurker Ship

Exiting the arena, take a right turn to follow the path to Misty Island's Bay. Here, you'll find a Lurker Ship accessible via a bridge. After crossing the bridge, board the ship and climb up its right side to reach the top, where another Power Cell awaits.

Stop the Cannon

Continuing your ascent from the last Power Cell, dodge logs thrown by Lurkers as you run up the ramp. Jump over rolling logs and duck under bouncing ones, using side platforms as needed for rest and strategy. Upon reaching the top, eliminate the two Lurkers guarding the cannon overlooking the arena to earn another Power Cell. While there, use the cannon to blast open metal boxes in the arena below, revealing additional Precursor Orbs.

Destroy the Balloon Lurkers

With the cannon neutralized, it's time to board the Zoomer and tackle the Balloon Lurkers hovering over the bay. Navigate to the Zoomer trans-pad, located across the bridge opposite the one you used to board the Lurker Ship, and venture out into the bay. Use the Zoomer to ram into the Lurkers piloting the Balloons, destroying both the Lurker and the Balloon. Employ the brakes, accelerator, and hop function judiciously to avoid explosive mines flanking the Lurkers. Approach each balloon from the side, allowing you to maneuver between the mines and into the Lurkers. Since the Lurker Balloons follow a predictable route, timing your attack is straightforward. Eliminating five will net you another Power Cell.

Use the Zoomer to Reach the Power Cell

After dispatching the Lurker Balloons, it's time to claim the floating Power Cell. Ride up the ramp shown in image 1, take a right, and navigate around the rock to the section depicted in image 2. Accelerate towards the edge and hop just before launching off to grab the Precursor Orbs and the Power Cell.

Free 7 Scout Flies

To wrap up your Misty Island expedition, you'll need to liberate seven Scout Flies scattered across the island. The first can be found along the Muse's chase route, where a seesaw with a boulder awaits. By jumping onto the opposite end and executing a ground pound, you'll launch the rock, propelling you onto the cliff where the Scout Fly Box resides.

The next two Scout Fly Boxes are located near the arena door, in the area where you collected Blue Eco to activate the moving platform. Traverse the crumbling path shown in the image to reach one, while the other is accessible through the gap on the left side of the same image.

The fourth Scout Fly Box is found by taking the left path after exiting the arena. Use the seesaw on the left side of this path to ascend the cliffs, where the Scout Fly Box overlooks the Bay.

The fifth and sixth Scout Fly Boxes are on the Lurker Ship in the Bay. The first is just beyond the bridge you used to board, while the second is halfway up the ramp with rolling logs, on one of the side platforms.

The final Scout Fly Box is accessible while riding the Zoomer in the Bay. Navigate to the same ramp mentioned in "Use the Zoomer to Reach the Power Cell" to find the Scout Fly Box near its top. With all Scout Flies freed and the Power Cell collected, your only remaining task is to return the Muse to the Sculptor in Sandover Village, completing your Misty Island adventure.
